How can people honestly believe in this stuff?

it really boggles my mind the amount of blind and radical faith that exists in the world. there are so many religions and they have ALL been fabricated by human beings and yet, people now just accept it as truth. granted, science is largely theory, but it includes tangible, provable facts. i really just don't understand how there are so many people out there that actually believe this stuff; it all seems so ridiculous to me. take scientology for example. it was created by a science fiction writer!! how can people seriously turn around and say this is reality?? Christianity? Jesus was an incredibly influential historical figure, and the way he motivated a population has been nearly unrivaled; but he was turned into a deity by quite a close political vote! I know I may sound harsh in my convictions, but I am genuinely interested in knowing HOW this can be believed to such an extent when it's all just been made up...literally.
