Is a pitchers duel just a euphemism for a dead game?

When I go to the ballpark or watch a game on tv, very few people seem want to see each inning scoreless and the scoreboard filled with zeros through each inning. Even is theres good defense, without offense and runs scoring a lot of people get too bored with the game. Why are some reasons why some people like it? How often do 9 innings go by with the game remaining scoreless? With lots of offense, people get more excited to watch the game. Explain why or why not you like it...
