Would the Celtics still be as good as right now if they didn't trade for Garnett?

Al Jefferson, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo.......they traded Garnett for jefferson and some other players.........jefferson is statistically better than KG this season but i don't know about the defense......Al jefferson sucks at defense and he got killed by Bynum yesterday...
