Android flashing rom went wrong?

Hi I decide to root my phone on Thursday, last night I tried to flash a ROM I had downloaded ROM manager and tried flashing that way but it just kept re-booting then would get an android with an exclamation mark and thats as far as it would go. So me being me I deided to select the option in ROM Manager to install from SD I managed to find the ROM pirate rum and went ahead to install it. All seemed to be going but then it went to a boot up screen that said pirate rum on it now its just stuck on that boot up screen I have left it alone all night just in case it was some sort of glitch? But that didn't work (no surprises there then) I just wondered is there a way I could fix this or have I put politely bricked it. any replys would be greatly appreciated,HTC Desire 2.2 if poss keep it simple like me
